Beefy Bountiful Italian Stuffed Mushrooms

Italian stuffed mushrooms are a wonderful starter to any festive meal or dinner party. Bring these delectable treats to your next holiday gathering and watch them fly of the platter.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb whole button mushrooms
  • 1 cup celery
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped red onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped scallions
  • 1 tsp garlic chopped
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 cup progresso Italian breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Romano
  • 1/4 cup grated asiago
  • 1/2 cup milk

Method

  1. Remove stems from mushrooms and reserve caps
  2. In a saute pan, cook beef, onions, celery, garlic and salt until beef is thouroughly cooked and vegetables are tender.
  3. Drain the fat.
  4. Add breadcrumbs, milk, and cheese’s.
  5. Spoon mixture into every cap and then place mushrooms on a baking sheet.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes until mushrooms are tender.
  7. Serve immediately.

Note: The beef may also be replaced with lobster, crab, or even tofu for a twist.

    Italian mushrooms? I was practically salivating before I even got to the recipe. Another one for my links folder… I may have to make a special folder for them if you keep churning out recipes like this :)
