Beer Battered Onion Rings with Spicy Mayo Dipping Sauce
Perfect served with a steak, burger or on their own.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups good quality beer
- 1 ½ cups Flour
- *2 tbsp Corn starch (optional)
- 3 tsp Paprika
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- ½ tsp dried Parsley
- 2 ½ tsp Salt 3 tbs Vegetable or Sunflower oil
- 3 Spanish onions (cut into aprox. 1/4 inch slices)
- Oil for deep frying
Method
- Mix together all ingredients except onions in a large bowl
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or deep pan
- Dip onions into batter then fry in hot oil a few at a time until they are golden brown
Spicy Mayo Dipping Sauce
- 2 cups good quality Mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup minced Scallion
- 1 ½ tbsp minced Garlic
- 1/4 cup Olive oil
- ½ tbsp Chilli oil or Tabasco
Blend together all ingredients in food processor until oil is completely incorporated into the Mayonnaise.
*You can leave the corn starch out of the batter recipe. It just makes the cooked batter a bit crunchier.
