Cheese and Date Fold Over

Delicious cheese-date appetizer.

Ingredients

  • half cup of oleo
  • 1 cup cheese
  • 1 and a half cups of flour
  • 2T water
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1 recipe date filling*

Method

  1. Cream oleo and soft grated cheese 
  2. Blend in salt, flour, and water into creamed mixture
  3. Chill for 4-5 hrs
  4. Roll dough to 1/8″ thickness
  5. Cut with biscuit cutter
  6. Place 1t date mixture on 1 half of of the circle then fold over
  7. Press edges with fork tines
  8. Bake until brown at 375

* Date Filling recipe*1 cup dates1/2 cup brown sugar1/4 cup water-Combine all and cook over low heat until thick as jam
