Creamy Herb Dressing
This makes about one cup.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 4 tablespoons red wine, champagne, or tarragon vinegar
- 2 teaspoons chopped fresh herbs, such as tarragon, basil, dill or chives
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground white pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
Method
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, chopped herbs, salt and pepper. The dressing should be thick, but pourable. If it is too thick, you can add a few drops of water.
Variations
- 1. Substitute lemon juice for the vinegar.
- 2. Make a creamy garlic dressing by subtituting finely minced garlic fo the herbs and freshly ground black pepper for the white pepper.
