Spicy Spinach and Toasted Pine Nut Dip

A delightful dip for a pumpernickel bread bowl centerpiece or as a cracker platter display.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups drained cooked spinach
  • 2 cups mayonnaise
  • 1 red onion minced
  • 2 Tbsp Tabasco
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire
  • 1 Tbsp Amber Honey
  • 1 Tsp Sea Salt
  • 2/3 cups toasted pine nuts

Method

  1. Combine all ingredients in bowl and mix until combined.
  2. Refrigerate for 2 hours before serving to let flavors enhance

    Hmmm..sounds interesting. I will definately have to try this one day. It’s one of the simplest receipes I’ve ever seen and I’m sure I can find something to do for those 2 hrs while it’s it’s in the fridge. Thanks for sharing. I do have one question. Would it taste just as good or throw off the recipe any kind of way if I leave the honey out? I’m not a fan of honey. However, I will use it if I can’t really taste it. With those others ingredients, I doubt if I would taste it anyway.

    I thought I could try it but after spending much for the expensive tabasco and Worcestershire sauce- it is rather expensive where I live- I realized that pine nuts can’t be had for love or money around here! Any alternative?
