Halloween Party Food
A couple of spooktactular Halloween goodies.
Every Halloween party needs a couple of deliciously spooky treats. Some of my all time favorites are a snap to make and will have your guest screaming with delight. Remember that presentation is everything when setting out you food.
Halloween punch:
1 can of unsweetened pineapple juice
1 cup of lemon juice
2 and 1/2 cups of cranberry juice
3/4 cup of sugar
1 small bottle of maraschino cherries
2 litres of ginger ale
This Ghoulish punch is best prepared in a black cauldron, you can usually find one at any bargain or dollar store for just a few dollars. While you are there pick up a package of gummy worms. Add a few gummy worms to your punch and hang some off the side of your cauldron. They add an extra special touch and are quite tasty.
Macaroon spiders:
Prepare your Macaroon mixture as you normally would. Before the Macaroons are fully set attach black licorice legs and red Smarties for the eyes. These little critters look good enough to eat, so go ahead and enjoy. Adding some webbing around the serving tray gives your Macaroon spiders a nice home, and your guests a little fright.
With just a little time, a few ingredients, and a good dose of imagination you can create frightfully delicious treats for your Halloween party guest. Just keep in mind that the whole purpose is to have fun and enjoy your fright night festivities.
Eye ball Jello:
Prepare jello per package instructions and place in a see through container. A light color jello such as orange is best for this treat. Place jello in fridge to set. Check often and when jello starts to jell, but before it is fully set, slide a candy eyeball along the edge of the container. Return to fridge and let set completely. This treat is both spooky and tasty.
Blood Pudding:
Prepare vanilla pudding as you usually do, or follow the simple package directions. Place you pudding in individual clear containers, it only looks scary if you can see it. Now mix a couple of drops of red food coloring with a couple of drops of water. Dip the prongs of a fork into the food coloring mixture and hold along the edges of the container. The red coloring will drip down along the pudding in bloody streaks. Top with a dolop of whip and a drop of blood( food coloring). Delicious blood pudding will have your vampires in a dreamy state all night…..
