Homemade Corn Dogs

A yummy treat that the whole family will love.

Ingredients
1 c. plain cornmeal
1 c. plain flour
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 c. whole milk
2 Tbsp. shortening, melted
1 lb. weiners
Method
Mix the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together. Add the add and milk, then blend in the melted shortening. Dip the weiners into the batter and fry in deep fat until golden brown.
