Baked Cheese and Tomato Strata

Really good.

2/3 cup of margarine
1 clove garlic
1tsp dry mustard
1 loaf italien white bread
3/4 grated swiss cheese
3 tbsps onion,grated
1 1/2 tsps salt
1 tsp paprika
1/3 cup flour
3 cups milk
1-19oz can stewed tomatoes
3 eggs,beaten

cream 1/3 cup margarine garlic and mustard in a small bowl.  Remove bread crusts and spread one side of each slice with mixture of margarine.  Line a baking dish with bread,margine side of bread down.  In a large bowl put paprika,salt,onion,cheese and mustard.  Toss until mixed.  In a medium pan melt remaining margarine.  Add and mix margarine with milk then heat to boiling.  Stir in eggs and tomatoes.  Stir then pour back into sauce pan.

Set aside a half cup of the cheesey mixture.  Pour tomato sauce over all.  Sprinkle with cheese, refrigerate cover for the day.  Pre heat oven to 190c bake for 50 minutes.
