Breakfast at O’briens

published by Sydney Hazelton on Dec 18, 2010

It was the second and final day of our getaway. My husband and I were looking for some breakfast at KLCC. We decided to settle for O’Briens after checking out the menu. It was a good choice.

Few Seats at O’Briens
O’Briens was located just below an escalator. It was one of those small outlets, catering mostly for takeaways. We found a cosy corner, so we could be left undisturbed. There were only about 4 tables at the O’Briens outlet and can seat 10 people at any one sitting. If you turn up during peak periods like lunch or dinner time, do not expect to find seats there.

Menu at O’Briens
At O’Briens, they serve mainly tea, coffee and other beverages. They also have different types of sandwiches. From the pictures displayed at O’Briens, the sandwiches looked tiny. My husband and I shared a club sandwich, and we ordered a pot of tea and a cup of coffee. I was afraid that the sandwich would not be enough for the both of us. But when the sandwich arrived, we were surprised at its size. It was perfect for the both of us. Thank goodness we did not order anything else.

O’Briens Sandwich Was Filling
As mentioned earlier, we ordered Club Sandwich. The toasted bread may be a little burnt, but the multi-tiered sandwich was filled with lots of salad, egg, tomatoes, coleslaw and bacon. The sandwich made us full and satisfied. Yummy!

Good Service at O’Briens
Initially, when we were about to order, a lady greeted us and asked what we wanted. We told her our orders but she did not key them into the register. Then she went off to do her stuff, while another staff came over and asked for our order. My husband told him that we had ordered but she did not key them in. He said that he was in-charge of keying the items into the register. I thought it was strange. That was not how we did things in our country. Maybe they did it differently over there. Anyway, we sat down after ordering. The food and drinks came relatively quickly and we ate them all as we were famished.

Overall, I enjoyed my experience at O’Briens, even though the menu selection was not extensive. We had fast and good service generally, and the food was tasty and filling. We are thoroughly satisfied with O’Briens and would recommend it to those who would like a light meal of sandwiches when you are at KLCC.

Nice post! I wish we also have O’Briens here in our country.
