Burgers

The favourite fast food of the present generation, burgers cook to a moist, flavourful juiciness in the microwave. Try them for a quick snack or even a meal with soup and salad.
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 teaspoons oil
- ½ teaspoon gar-am masala
- 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- Green chillies to taste, finely chopped
- 500 grams minced meat
- 1 ½ teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- Salt to taste
- 8 burger buns
- Some butter or cheese spread
- 1 small cabbage, finely shredded
- 1-1 ½ cups mayonnaise
- Mustard, tomato sauce
OPTIONAL ADD-ONS:
- Sliced tomatoes
- Onions
METHOD:
- Heat the oil at 100% power for 1 minute. Drop in the gar-am masala, garlic and green chillies. Cook at the same power for 1 minute 30 seconds.
- Wash the mince well (it should not be very finely ground) and mix into it the flavoured oil, sauce and salt.
- Shape into 8 burger patties (about 3 ½’’ in diameter).
- Lay on the high rack. Preheat the oven at the MW + Convection setting (180 degrees + 100%) for 7 minutes, then put in patties and cook for 6 minutes.
- Put a plate underneath to collect the drippings. Stand 3 minutes before checking for doneness and browning, cooking a minute more if needed.
- If your oven does not offer combination cooking, cook at 100% power for 6 minutes, draining the patties after.
- To assemble, slit the buns, spread with butter or cheese spread, then mustard on one half and tomato ketchup on the other.
- Mix the cabbage with mayonnaise, slip in a patty and some cabbage. If you are using the tomatoes and onions, add these in too.
- Press gently to seal. To reheat, Microwave at 100% power for 30 seconds per burger.

That is one thing I miss a lot about living where I do in Korea, good hamburgers. Sure, I can go to Mickey D’s or Burger King for my burgers, but they are not the same.
Good recipe here. Thanks for sharing.
