Chef Lauren’s Award Winning Muffalatta N’Awlins

Winner at a recent cooking competition in Mt. Dora Florida.
First of all you will need my NY Pizza Dough recipe for the Crustini loaf. You will form the dough into 12 oz balls. Proof for 30 minutes and bake them at 350 degrees until golden brown.
Ingredients
- 2 Crustini loaves cut in half (Horizontal)
- 8 slices of Turkey (thin)
- 8 slices Ham (thin)
- 16 slices Salami (thin)
- 2 cups shredded whole milk mozzarella
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 16 Slices Tomato (Beef)
- 8 sliced rings of red onion
- 1 cup Manzanella pitted olives
- 1 cup black olives
- ½ cup carrots
- ½ cup mayonnaise (commercial grade)
- 1/4 Tsp White pepper
- 1/4 Tsp Sea salt
Method
Tapenade Spread
- Using a food processor. Add the green and black olives and process until finely chopped.
- Add to large bowl.
- Mix in the carrots, mayonnaise, salt, and white pepper.
Building the Muffalattas
- Distribute the Tapenade on the 4 pieces of crustini.
- Layer the onion, then the lettuce, and finally the tomato. Spread items out to cover loaf.
- Add 2 pieces of ham to each loaf
- Add 2 pieces of turkey to each loaf
- Add 4 pieces of salami to each loaf
- Distribute the mozzarella on all 4 Muffalatta’s.
- Bake in oven at 350 until cheese is melted and bread is crispy.
