Kev’s Simple Sammich

published by Nakeeh Stone on Jul 3, 2007

A sammich is the word used when you see an extra good sandwich.

A sandwich usually requires two things to be a sammich. Some super delicious gravy, some fresh lettuce and some meat. But Kev’s Simple Sammich doesn’t require lettuce to be extra good. Besides I know many grown men who are afraid of “the green stuff”. In this sammich we use honey as our gravy.

Ingredients:

  • Unsalted & unspiced sausage
  • Two slices of white/wheat bread
  • Honey (whipped honey, not the crystallized honey)

Now, let’s get down to business:

  1. Toast the two slices of bread.
  2. Put the two slices next to each other.
  3. Pour the honey gently on both slices so that the tops of the slices are covered. But make sure that no honey spills over.
  4. Depending on the size of the sausage start placing slices of the sausage on one slice of bread until it is covered. I needed to place only one slice of sausage on the bread. Make the slice of sausage about a quarter inch big.
  5. Now quickly place the slice of bread with no sausage on the slice of bread which has the sausage. Do this quickly because otherwise you will have honey everywhere. Now the slices of bread should be stuck together.
  6. Voila! You are done. Enjoy! Bon Appetit!

Suggestions:

  • Great to serve at kids parties.
  • This is good & fast afternoon snack.
  • Fry the sausage.
  • Serve with tea.

I love to do these because they are so simple and so good. And by the way, I have never found a kid who doesn’t love this.
