Spaghetti Pie Recipe

published by Angelgirlpj on Mar 21, 2011

Spaghetti pie is a wonderful pasta dish. It’s spaghetti with a twist. It’s also an inexpensive and economical dish to make. It will soon become your families favorite.

When it comes to making spaghetti pie, it is hard to give actual measurements of the spices, sauce and cheeses. It will depend on your families taste. Many people love garlic and onion while others want just a hint. Some families would skip the vegetables and have double the cheese.  There is no right or wrong, customize the spaghetti pie to suit your family.

Things Needed:

  • 1 Large onion, chopped
  • 1 Green pepper, chopped
  • 1 lb ground turkey or ground beef
  • 8 oz spaghetti noodles
  • Stockpot
  • 10-inch pie plate
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Spaghetti sauce
  • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • Onion powder
  • Garlic powder
  • Fennel seed
  • Mozzarella cheese-shredded
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2.  In a skillet brown your ground turkey or ground beef. As it is browning, add the chopped onion and green pepper and continue to brown. Drain off any water or oil.
  3. In large stockpot heat water until it comes to a boil, add the spaghetti noodles and cook as per the directions on the package. Being extremely careful, drain the water off the noodles.
  4. Using olive or canola oil, grease your pie plate. Dump and spread your noodles into the pie plate covering the bottom and going up the sides. Take the beaten eggs and pour over the spaghetti noodles.
  5. Pour the amount of spaghetti sauce you like over the noodles and sprinkle with parmesan cheese, onion powder, garlic powder and fennel seed.
  6. Add the ground meat and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake 15-20 minutes or until cheese is melted. Cut into 6 wedges and serve.

Tip:

  • If you like extra cheese, after you bake it take it out of the oven and add a little more cheese and bake an additional 5-10 minutes.
  • Tossed salad and garlic toast make excellent side dishes.
