English: A “ham kaas tosti” or “tosti ham en kaas”: a toastie with ham and cheese (grilled ham and cheese sandwich), here with tomato ketchup on the side, is a standard snack in many pubs and cafeterias in the Netherlands. Ingredients

4 slices of Texas toast
4 thick slices of Yellow American Chz.
butter
salt (opt.)
pepper
1 dill pickle sliced in two.

Directions

Pre-heat a frying pan, on med. Butter 1 side of the bread. Place two pieces of bread, butter side-down in pan. Put two slices of cheese on top each piece of bread. Then put the other teo slices of bread, butter side up on top. Lightly, brown each side. When, down Take one half the pickle a sqeeze the juice sparingly all over on side. Enjoy!
