The Brunch Sandwich
published by Thomas P. Walton on May 26, 2009
Make a sandwich that works for breakfast or lunch, any time of the year. Good for parties, family meals, business luncheons, or just eating by yourself. This recipe is good for anyone who doesn’t normally cook. The instructions can’t be any easier.
Ingredients
What you need to do first is go down to the grocery store and purchase the following:
- Dinner or breakfast rolls (pita pockets work just as well)
- Frozen potato patties
- Frozen sausage patties
- Ham steak (pre-cooked)
- Avacados (two per three sandwiches)
- Onion rings
- Mayonaise (Best Foods [not the tangy tasting mayonaise])
- sour cream (large size)
- green onion dip powder
Method
- Cook the ham steak just until the juices start to flow and the meat gets darker in color (five minutes tops!). While doing this, throw the frozen sausages and potato patties (separately) in the microwave for half the time specified on the packages (two minutes tops!).
- Place the frozen potato patties on a cookie sheet. Space the patties apart evenly. Place the onion rings in next to the potato patties. Stick the cookie sheet in the oven at 300 degrees Farrenheit. Let it cook for ten minutes, or until golden and crisp.
- Throw the sausage in the pan with the ham for about four minutes. It is okay to cook the ham again (a good idea for anything made of pork).
- Cut the avacados in half, and then scoop the insides out with a spoon or butter knife. Cut the avacado chunks into slices for the sandwiches.
- Mix the green onion dip powder directly into the sour cream container. Stir vigorously, until there’s little white color left in the cream.
- Microwave each roll or pita pocket until slightly warm (30 seconds on high). Place the bread into the toaster.
When everything is finished cooking, start decking the sandwiches!
- Spread mayonaise on the bread very lightly.
- Place the ham steak on the bread.
- Add the potato patty.
- Cover the potato patty with green onion dip.
- Add the sausage on top of the dip.
- Add the onion ring on top of the sausage.
- Throw the avacado on top.
- Press the sandwich lightly with your hands to make it all stick together.
Bon apetite!
