The Top Three L.A. Food Trucks I Want to Try

published by Victor C on Oct 14, 2010

The Los Angeles food truck scene has blown up recently. These trucks are on the top of my list to try. How about you?

Los Angeles has had a boom in Gourmet Food Trucks over the past year or so. I would liken it to the California Gold Rush of 1848. There are now more Food Trucks than you can wave a stick at (trust me, that’s a lot of trucks). I have had the pleasure of trying one of these delicious meals on wheels called the Kogi Truck and the Short Rib Taco was to die for. Amazingly flavorful and it seemed to melt in my mouth. After that I decided I needed more.

So I did some research and found these 3 trucks that I want to try. The cream of the crop, if you will. These trucks have peaked my interest and I cannot wait to sample their culinary creations. So read on and let me know if you have tried them or if they are on your list also.

1. Grill’em All - This is not your local, hole in the wall, burger joint. These are gourmet burgers served out of an over sized van. And do they look appetizing. The main burger I want to try is the “Behemoth”. It’s a patty that uses two grilled cheese sandwiches as buns. You read that right. Add in smoked cheddar, apple wood smoked bacon, and beer soaked onions and you got yourself a burger worth hunting down.

2. Buttermilk Truck- Breakfast never looked so good. I don’t know about you but I love breakfast. And I think it’s pretty safe to say that I’m gonna love the Buttermilk Truck.  From it’s Buttermilk Pancake Bites to it’s Hawaiian Bread Cinnamon French Toast Sticks the Buttermilk Truck is serving up dishes like there’s not tomorrow. I personally can’t wait to try their Buttermilk Biscuit Breakfast Sandwiches: Served on housemade buttermilk biscuit with cheese and fried egg Choice of applewood smoked bacon, tocino, or chicken apple sausage. I know your mouth is watering, it’s ok, mine is too.

3. Grilled Cheese Truck - You remember when you were a kid and a grilled cheese sandwich was the best thing ever? Well, it is again my friend. At the Grilled Cheese Truck you can get the plain and simple melts (american or sharp cheddar). Or you can go out on a limb and get the cheesy mac and rib (BBQ pork), the Brie Melt (on Cranberry Walnut Bread), the Harvest Melt (Roasted Butternut Squash with sauteed leeks, balsamic and agave syups), or the Dessert Melt (Roasted banana puree, Nutella and marshmallow). They also have plenty of additions you can add to any sandwich.

So there you have it, my top 3 Los Angeles Gourmet Food Trucks I want to try. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m headed out to L.A.
