Turkey Burger with Dill Havarti and Grilled Pineapple

published by nikern20 on Mar 23, 2010

This burger is inspired by a burger available at the Burger Joint in the Flamingo Casino in Las Vegas. It was one of the best burgers I’ve eaten, and it’s my responsibility to make something as tasty for the masses!

This was a burger I had in Las Vegas that changed my stomach from a drunken hung over from to a happy clown.  So I hope this turkey burger has the power to turn you around also.

Ingredients:

  • 4 Jenny O Turkey Burger Patties Thawed
  • 4 Slices of Pineapple from a can
  • 4 Slices Havarti with Dill
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic Powder
  • Onion Powder
  • 5 Mushrooms Thin Sliced
  • 4 Burger Buns or Kaiser Rolls
  • Baby Arugula Sprigs

Recipe:

  • Heat up your grill to medium-high heat for 5-10 minutes depending on the grill
  • Make an aluminum foil pouch and fill it with the mushrooms and a splash of olive oil
  • Close up the pouch and put it on the grill, with a tiny hole for steam on the top
  • Add 1 tsp of Salt, Pepper, Onion, and Garlic Powder to each burger, evenly spread on both sides
  • Put the burgers on the grill 3-4 minutes per side, until grill marked
  • Flip the Burgers
  • Add the Pineapple to the grill
  • Put the cheese on the Burgers
  • After 2 minutes flip the pineapple it should have some caramelized grill marks
  • Pull the burgers, mushrooms, and pineapple from the grill when all the cheese is melted on the burgers
  • Put it all on a bun, garnish with Baby Arugula and tomato, and enjoy!
