Delicious Bakery Food for Children

Vegetable and Bread pudding
Ingredients
- 10 slices brown bread
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 finely chopped medium sized onion
- 3 cloves
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons refined floor
- 3 cups milk
- 1 cup grated cheese
- ¼ cup green peas, blanched
- 2 medium carrots, 1cm dices, blanched
- 1 large potato, 1 cm dices, boiled
- 6 French beans, ½ inch pieces blanched
- ¼ small broccoli, florets
- 4 tablespoons tomato ketchup
- 4 tablespoons red chilli sauce
- 4 butter cubes
- Salt to taste
- A pinch of grated nutmeg
Method
Preheat oven to 200 C.
- Cut the brown bread slices into one-inch pieces and put them in a baking dish
- Heat oil and three tablespoons of butter in a pan
- Add cloves, chopped onion and sauté
- Add refined flour and stir
- Add milk gradually, stirring continuously to avoid lumps
- Boil till it thickens and remove the cloves
- Add the grated nutmeg, salt and half the grated cheese and mix well
- Add all the vegetables to the baking dish
- Pour the ketchup and chilli sauce over it
- Cover with remaining grated cheese;
- Keep butter cubes on the top and place the tray in the oven and bake at 200 C for 15 minutes
- Serve hot
Hot dog Roll
Ingredients
- 4 hot dog buns
- 2 chicken sausages
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 medium sized onions, cut into rings
- 1 bunch lettuce, shredded
- 4 tablespoons tomato ketchup
- 4 tablespoons English mustard paste
- 1 jalapeno pepper, sliced
Method
- Heat a grill pan
- Slit the rolls and roast them lightly
- Keep them aside
- Add oil to the pan and grill the sausages till lightly browned
- Drain and place them on a plate
- Place some lettuce on the bottom part of the roll
- Place two sausages over the lettuce
- Arrange some onion rings over them followed by jalapeno slices
- Dribble some tomato ketchup and mustard paste
- Cover the second half of the roll and secure with two toothpicks at wither end
- Serve hot

The vegetable bread pudding sounds really good. We cook bread pudding with dried fruit and brown sugar but I will try this.
