We would all love to have as much chocolate and sweets as we desire, but we have to stay healthy to our hearts. But that doesn’t mean we can’t eat good food.

One of my favourite things to eat is fruit. It is very healthy and very delicious, try fresh raspberries topped with a pinch of sugar, cantaloupe and honeydew melons, or apples and peanut butter. If you are looking for a less fattening alternative to peanut butter, vegetables are great too, especially those that can be dipped in ranch dressing, like carrots, cucumbers or celery.

A great breakfast that is fast, healthy and tasty is oatmeal. There are so many different combinations like eating it with different fruits and adding cinnamon. Likewise, yogurt is good too. Try mixing it with fruits and oats for a filling breakfast.

Trail mix is a good snack, but don’t overeat it too much because the peanuts can be a little fattening. To make your own healthy trail mix, get some almonds and mix them with dried cranberries. Add more cranberries for more flavour, then add a few small chunks of chocolate for sweetening. It is a great snack to much on while staying healthy.

Finally, there are endless possibilities when it comes to making smoothies. They are a great drink because they are filling, provide essential nutrients that your body needs, they are quick and easy to make, and they are extremely healthy! To make them, all you need is some yogurt, natural fruit juice, and frozen or fresh fruits (I prefer frozen, but it is up to you), then blend it all together. Experiment with different combinations of how much yogurt, juice and fruit you need until you find that your drink is thick, creamy and has lots of flavour. Try using different fruits, and always try new combinations!

So, eating healthy can be fun and tasty. Try some of these ideas for breakfast, snacks, or whenever else you feel the need. Happy eating!
