Homemade Fake Waffles
Who needs waffles when you can make a really special dessert with some other magic materials?
If you are like me, then you would love waffles with ice cream. Please note, I’m not talking about potato waffles. Adding ice cream on potato waffles is not only disgusting but is also a sign of mental imbalance.
There was a phase when I was so obsessed with waffles and ice cream that I’d have it for breakfast, then as dessert for lunch and then dessert after dinner. It was like an obsession and this about a month ago. But now, what if you don’t have McVities’ ready made waffles that you have to toast up? How do you make your own? Well, I made my own set of ‘fake’ waffle treats, this way.
Use bread! Yes, I know you are thinking, ‘Ew…who does that?’ Well, I did and I absolutely loved it. But that doesn’t mean that you just add a massive glob of ice cream on a slice of break. Take it nice and simple.
- Start with one slice of bread.
- Toast it well until it is hardened and brown.
- While it is still nice and warm, get out that pot of Nutella and add generous amounts of Nutella on to the toasted piece of bread.
- If you want, you can get experimenting with honey too, but I (am a chocoholic and) like to have my dose of chocolate.
- Then get out your vanilla ice cream and add a nice scoop at the corner of the bread.
What you want to make sure of is that the bread doesn’t go soggy before you add the ice cream because a soggy toast isn’t that tasty and not that much fun. I know this is a very weird sort of fake waffle treat but when you actually taste it, it tastes pretty okay! It isn’t that bad…
So hope you enjoy your fake waffle treat!
