Ingredients

  • 2 c. whole wheat flour
  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 3/4 c. honey
  • 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
  • 1/4 c. milk

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spray a cookie sheet with butter flavored Pam.
  2. Sift together the first 5 ingredients and set aside. Cream the shortening, honey and vanilla together. Add the flour and milk alternately to the creamed mixture. Chill in refrigerator until firm.
  3. Roll out the dough to 1/8 inch thickness and cut into squares. Carefully prick each square with a fork. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until crisp.

Note: For regular graham crackers, substitute 3/4 c. brown sugar for the honey.
