Recipe of masala/spicy biscuit.

Ingredients:

  • All Purpose Flour (Maida) – 2 cups
  • Baking Powder – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – ½ tsp
  • Sugar – 3 tbsp
  • Cumin Seeds (Jeera) – 1 tbsp
  • Green Chilli (Finely Chopped) – 4 nos.
  • Curry Leaves (Finely Chopped) – 14 nos.
  • Butter – ½ cup
  • Milk – ¾ cup

Procedure:

(1)   In a mixing bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, cumin seeds, finely chopped green chilli and finely chopped curry leaves.

(2)   Add butter and mix well.

(3)   Add milk to the mixture such that a soft dough is formed (Consistency similar to that of chapathi dough)

(4)   You can either roll the dough flat and cut it into 1 inch squares, or make flat rounds (preferred).  Place the pieces in a baking tray.  Poke each individual piece with a fork before placing the tray in the oven.

(5)   Preheat the oven to 350 degree faraniet and place the tray in the oven for baking.  It takes about 20 to 30 minutes to get done.  Please keep an eye to be on safer side.

Note:

(1)   The quantity mentioned above must ideally produce 60 biscuits (may be more but surely not lesser)

(2)   You may add grated ginger and finely chopped mint leaves to enhance flavour.
