Protein bar recipe.
If you are reading this article you are most probably considering to create your very own special protein bars. Well, then you are on the right place.
So this is your basic low carbohydrate/low fat/high protein recipe
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup of Cottage cheese/curds
- 1/2 cup of Low fat milk powder
- 1 cup of Oatmeal
- 2 egg whites or one whole egg if you dont mind excess fat and calories
- 5 scoops of protein powder *(this will add the sweetness to the bars)
- 1 1/2 bananas
Optional
- If you are on higher carbohydrate diet, try adding chopped apple or dried raisins for extra carbs!
- If you don´t mind higher fat value you might be interested in adding some battered nuts or peanuts!
- *If you don´t have protein powder or you are trying to avoid using it for some reason you can add another two cups of milk powder+another 4 egg whites to substitute it. You will also need to add either peanut butter (fat) or honey (sugars) for sweetness because protein powder was the ingredient which made the bar sweet.
Method
- First preheat your oven 325 degrees. Spray a cooking pan or a cooking bowl with cooking spray or oil.
- In a bowl mix all ingredients until smooth and pour the mixture into the pan or bowl.
- Bake for 25-30minutes or untill the toothpick comes out clean
- Cool for a hour and finally enjoy!
