Whenever Spam
Spam is not dog food and it is Hawaii’s on-the-go food. This is easy and can be made for breakfast or whenever.
Servings: 2-3
Ingredients
- 1 can Spam
- 1 piece garlic (NOT a whole clove); diced
- Extra virgin olive oil or 1/4 stick butter
- 1 Medium onion (don’t chop or dice, regular cut)
- 2 1/2 teaspoon fish sauce or soy sauce
- 1 small cup cherry tomatoes
(The reason here is that large tomatoe have a different taste and cherry tomatoes are sweeter.) - 2 pinch dried oregano & basil (each)
Method
Heat a frying pan or any pan that you have to medium heat. Add oil or if using butter; melt. Add onions & garlic and let it sit until onions are soft and the way you would like it. While waiting, cut the spam in small bite pieaces, about in small cubes. When onions is cooked to perfection, add cherry tomatoes. You may leave the tomatoes as is OR you may use the back of your spatula to pop them a little; this will also add more sweet natural juice to the meal. Add oregano and basil and saute for about 1-2 minutes. Then add spam and fish sauce OR soy sauce all over. Mix it and let all the flavor get together for about a minute.
Serve on top of hot rice and Enjoy.
