Beetle-ridden Flour Causes Cancer

published by Socorro Lawas on Jan 31, 2012

What to do with beetle-infested flour? Toss it away. It’s not food that you would be eating but cancer.

Some people don’t give a damn, dismissing it as “added dietary protein” ; others laugh it off saying it improves singing voice; still others say it’s a waste to throw it away. All these show either ignorance or lack of information. What’s the best option? None of the above. Toss it out!

Research showed that beetles secrete a substance which when mixed with flour and fed to mice caused CANCER. In some Asian and African countries observers say poor farmers use beetle-ridden flour to make cakes, biscuits, and bread. I hope not.

To stir clear of the situation, no questions asked: just throw it away to avoid the danger of cancer. ###

This actually happened to me, purchased an infested bag off flour recently. Yes, it went in the trash pretty quickly and I had a bleach-fest mission in the kitchen. Thanks for sharing.

I’m just tired trying hard to go through the rituals of having to wait endlessly for “Tags” and “Find Image” to publish my articles. Thanks for the thought. You’re kind. Probably I’m pulling out in a few days.
