Bran Muffins

2 cups all-bran

1 cup bran buds

1 cup raisins

1 cup boiling water

1 1/2 cups sugar

1/2 cup oil

2 eggs

2 cups buttermilk

2 1/3 cups flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

chopped nuts

Pour boiling water over all-bran and bran buds with raisins. Blend together sugar, eggs, and oil. Alternate buttermilk with dry ingredients. Add bran mixture. Greased muffin tins are more desireable than paper cups. Bake 15-20 minutes at 400 degrees. Cool muffins a few minutes before removing from pan. Batter may be refrigerated for several weeks.
