Buttermilk Hot Cakes

2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
2 large eggs (separate yolks and whites)
1 7/8 cup buttermilk
9 tablespoons oil
Beat whites until stiff and dry in large bowl. Beat egg yolks, buttermilk and oil on medium speed about 1 minute. Add dry ingredients gradually. Batter will be thick. Fold in gently- egg whites. Makes about 14 (4 inch) hot cakes
