Cardamom Christmas Cookies

Easy traditional cookie for the holidays, or anytime.

Cardamom Christmas Cookies

Ingredients:
1 pound butter
6 cups sifted flour
3 eggs, beaten
1 cup chopped blanched almonds
2 cups sugar
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
2 tsp ground cardamom

Instructions:
Step one: Cream butter in large mixing bowl
Step two: Roll dough into two round tubes.
Step three: Cut the tubes of dough into quarter inch slices. Dough can be frozen to make the slicing easier.
Step four: Place dough discs on cookie sheets and bake at 350 degrees for ten minutes.

The dough can be made ahead of time and refrigerated or frozen for slicing and baking at a later date. Cutting the rolls of dough while cold is much easier.
