Dumpling Recipe

published by Bugman on Jan 24, 2011

One of my Mom’s wonderful recipes, she trully is talented.

DUMPLINGS

¼ teaspoon salt

4 cups milk

3 tablespoons Maizena

2 tablespoons flour

2 tablespoons custard powder

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 eggs, separated – beat whites stiff

2 teaspoons sugar

½ cup melted butter filled up with boiling water (I assume ½ cup too?)

1.                   Mix the dry ingredients with a bit of cold milk and add the egg yolks

2.                   Boil the milk, add the dry ingredients (1 above) to milk and fold in the egg white.  Boil over low heat until thick.

3.                   Place melted butter and boiling water in a Pyrex dish and drop spoonfuls of cooked mixture in the bowl.

4.                   Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on top – Enjoy

That is a very unusual dumpling recipe but it sounds tasty. I never thought of seething dumplings in milk.
