Ingredients

  • 1  Loaf of French Bread
  • 1  Clove of minced garlic
  • 1/4  Cup of Butter or Margarine
  • 5  Tablespoons of Chives sliced (fresh or dried)
  • Cheddar Cheese sliced
  • Mozzarella Cheese sliced

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350º Fahrenheit.
  2. Slice the french bread 1 1/2″ thick, not cutting all the way through.  Leave the slices attached to the loaf at the very bottom.
  3. Mix the minced garlic, butter and chives.  Generously butter the slices of the loaf with the mixture.
  4. Place cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese slices in alternating pieces of the loaf.
  5. Wrap in tin foil so that the foil’s fold is on top of the bread.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

Variations

Try different kinds of cheese with this — swiss, parmesan, etc.  Whatever melts good and is your favourite will work!
