French Bread

1 package dry yeast (or 1 tablespoon)

2 cups warm water

2 teaspoons salt

1 tablespoon sugar

4 1/2 cups flour

Mix all together. Let rise 1-1 1/2 hours. Stretch like French bread onto cookie sheet. Cut slits on top. Let rise 30 minutes. Before putting into oven wet top with cold water. Bake 10 minutes at 425* then 40 minutes at 325*. When done brush top with margarine. Makes 2 loaves.
