Fried Kool-aid

published by hnatalieann on Jun 21, 2011

The carnival has done it again, creating a fried version of a famous edible item. Believe it or not fried Kool-Aid is selling like crazy and people are loving it. The recipe is hard to come by as they are keeping it Top Secret in their headquarters, but here is a version that comes pretty close.

= ITEMS YOU NEED =

3 2/3 cup flour

1/3 cup sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 cup cherry Kool-Aid

3 eggs

2 cups milk

Vegetable oil for frying

= BATTER =

Whisk the eggs and sugar together in a bowl. Beating slowly, add in the milk. Add in all of the dry ingredients, then beat until the mix is creamy. The batter will be a bright pink color, add in more Kool-Aid if desired. Just taste the batter to make sure it is sweet.

= COOKING =

Heat up the oil, make sure it is hot and carefully add spoonfuls of batter. Cook for about 3-4 minutes or until the fried Kool-Aid is golden brown.

= OPTIONAL =

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1/4 cup cherry Kool-Aid

Mix the two items together. Roll warm fried Kool-Aid balls into the sugar mixture, fully coating it.

Allow to cool down.

ENJOY!

You can substiture any flavor Kool-Aid to create your own flavor.

Now let’s see what strange item they come up with next year!
