Grandma Anna’s Pears in a Cage
A recipe for an easy idea for a pear pie, it is delicious served with Greek Yoghurt.
Ingredients:
4 firm pears -
30 gr. sugar -
1 teaspoon ginger powder .-
juice of 1 / 2 lemon.
for the pastry: 200 gr. Flour.
100 gr.almond flour -
100 gr. sugar -
1 egg -
150 gr. butter -
salt.
To serve: Whipped cream or Greek yoghurt

Preparation:
Turn oven to 180 degrees. Peel pears, cut in half, remove their cores. Place them with the cut side up in a pan. Moisten with lemon juice and sprinkle with ginger and sugar. Bake them for 15 minutes then let them cool. Meanwhile, mix flour and the almonds with sugar, egg and melted butter in bain marie . Mix quickly, make a ball, wrap in foil and place in fridge for 1 hour. Roll out the pastry and cut two discs one larger than the other. Line a pan 24 cm in diameter with baking paper (wet and wrung) and wrap it with the large disk of pastry. Place the pears and cover with the other disk of pastry. Press the edges well. Brush the pastry with a little milk and bake 180 degrees for 40 more minutes. Serve covered in cream or Greek yoghurt.
