Habanera, Jalapeño, Onion Cheese Bread

Habanera, Jalapeño, Onion Cheese Bread Recipe.
Makes 2 loaves
Do you like specialty breads , but hate the high prices that you have to pay . There is a recipe that you will love and so will friends and family.
Ingredients
- 3 packages of active dry yeast
- ½ Cup warm water
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 ½ Cups warm milk
- 2/3 Cup sugar
- ½ Cup butter or margarine softened
- 3 teaspoons salt
- 6 to 7 cups flour
- 1 Cup cubed or shredded extra sharp cheese
- 1 Cup diced onion
- ½ Cup Jalapenos diced (Seeds optional will make bread hotter)
- ½ Cup Habanera’s diced
Method
- In a small bowl dissolve yeast in with your ½ cup warm water. Stir in your 1 tsp Sugar let stand for 5 to 10 minutes , until foamy.
- In a larger bowl mix your ½ Cup warm milk your 2/3 Cup sugar 3 tsp salt and your ½ cup butter
- Stir in yeast mixture add 2 Cups of flour mix well.
- By hand add another 4 Cups of flour 1 cup at a time until dough is slightly stiff .
- Knead remaining flour until smooth and stretchy( approximately 5 to 8 minutes.
- Place dough in larger bowl that has been greased lightly cover with plastic wrap and a towel let rise for 2 hours .
- After it has risen punch dough down and divide it in half
- Roll out one half and add ½ your cheese onions and peppers in the center of the dough . Be careful not to have the cheese on the outer edges of the dough or it will make your bread stick to the pan .
- Fold over several times
- Form a loaf and place in a greased loaf pan
- Repeat with the other half of the dough .
- Cover both and let rise for an additional hour
- Bake at 375 for 30 to 35 Minutes
Note : For softer crust after 20 minutes in oven brush melted butter on top of the loaves
