Have Flour, Have Food!

With just the basics in the pantry a family can eat tasty food.

Always make sure you have some flour on hand and see what you can make with other ingredients you have on hand.  Basic flatbread,  unleavened breads have been a staple human diet throughout history.

Flour and waterWith maybe a drop of oil can make roti bread, This Indian unleavened bread is great with a curry.

Flour, Baking powder ,milk, egg  = Pancakes -add sugar to duplicate brand mix.

Flour, eggs, milk – Fritters – add some corn and chili, yum. Or maybe tuna and cheese!

Flour, butter, baking powder, milk, sugar ands maybe beer or lemonade = Australian damper

Flour, sugar,buttermilk, salt = Irish Soda Bread

Flour, eggs, sugar, vanilla, old banana, milk, butter = banana bread

Flour, butter, milk = Dumplings to top a hearty casserole, add other ingredienst for even more flavour.

Flour, cornflour, water, oil – Filo and sping roll roll pastry.

There are so many more uses for flour. Every kitchen should have flour as a pantry staple. Look up all your favourite recipe sites of many more uses of flour. Every nation and culture has a different way to make unleavened bread and it is a wonderful journey trying all of them out.
