Home Recipe – Anzac Biscuits
This simple recipe will assist you with making the best tasting traditional ANZAC Biscuits.
It is best to use the traditional oats in my version.
Ingredients
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1 cup sugar
- ¾ cup coconut
- 125g butter
- 1 tablespoon golden syrup
- 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
- 2 tablespoons boiling water
Method
1. Combine oats, sifted flour, sugar and coconut in large bowl.
2. Combine butter and golden syrup in big pan, stir over low heat until butter is melted.
3. Combine soda and water, add to mixture and stir into dry ingredients while mixture is warm.
4. Place 3 level teaspoons of mixture together about 4cm apart n greased oven trays, press down lightly.
5. Bake in slow oven for about 20 minutes or until golden brown. Loosen biscuits while warm, cool on trays.
Notes
This recipe makes about 25 biscuits.
Store in an airtight container.
Freezing is suitable.
Do not Microwave.
