Homemade Cornbread
Delicious crumbled into a cereal bowl and eaten with milk.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups self-rising cornmeal
- 1/2 cup self-rising flour
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 cup milk
- 1 stick margarine
Method
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- Melt the margarine in a 8×8-inch baking dish.
- Mix together the cornmeal, flour, egg and milk.
- Add the melted margarine to the mixture and pour into the baking dish.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.

The title alone got my mouth watering. When my family gets together, there will be at least 3 different cornbreads. There is Mama Marts, Grannies and my mom’s. 3 different recipees and all three get eaten up.
