How to Make a Basic Butter Cake

Ingredients
- 100g butter.
- 100g sugar
- 100g flour
- 2 large size eggs
- 1 tea spoon vanilla essence
- ½ tea spoon baking powder.
Method
- First, place the softened butter and sugar in to the mixing bowl and beat it until light and fluffy.
- Next, add the egg whites then yolks in to another bowl and beat well. Add the vanilla essence and beat. It can be added some salt if necessary.
- Then pour the beaten eggs in to the butter and sugar mixture and beat 1 minute.
- Mix the flour and baking powder and sift properly.
- Slowly stir the flour in to the butter- sugar and eggs mixture.
- Finally, spoon the batter in to the prepared cake tin and bake at 190C for 35-40 minutes.
- Allow cooling in the tin for 15 minutes before turning out on to a wire cooling rack.
