How to Make Muffins

published by Starsong on Aug 3, 2009

Nothing could be easier – a great project to get you started on learning how to bake. You can’t go wrong with these simple, step-by-step instructions!

Ingredients

  • Muffin tray with 12 cup holes
  • 12 paper cups
  • 125g self-raising flour
  • 125g castor sugar
  • 125g butter
  • 1 flat half teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 packet of chocolate drops

Method

  1. Pre-heat your oven to 200 degrees Celsius / 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Place the paper cups into the holes on your muffin tray.
  3. Melt the butter, then mix all the ingredients except the chocolate drops together in a mixing bowl, stirring vigorously until there are no lumps left.
  4. Spoon an equal amount of mixture into each paper cup.
  5. Sprinkle chocolate drops on top of the mixture in each cup, then immediately put the tray into the oven. (Don’t delay, otherwise your chocolate drops will sink to the bottom!)
  6. Bake for 15 minutes, then remove from the oven, and your muffins are ready to serve!

Tip: Warm muffins taste ten times better than cold muffins, so eat them while they’re fresh from the oven!
