How to Make Queen Cakes
How to make delicious little queen cakes.
Ingredients
makes 12
- 100g caster sugar
- 100g margarine or butter
- 2 eggs
- 150g plain flour and half a teaspoon of baking powder or 150g self raising flour
- flavouring: few drops of vanilla or lemon essence
Method
- preheat oven to 180 degrees fan
- put paper bun cases into a bun tin
- cream butter and sugar until pale and fluffy
- add half the eggs and half the flour and beat
- sift the remaining flour and/or baking powder into the mixture
- fold in the flour very gently
- using dessertspoons fill 2/3 of each bun case with mixture
- bake in oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown
- cool on a wire tray
