Irish Soda Bread

A recipe.

A quick and simple recipe for some good bread. Serve it alongside soap for lunch or as a starter before dinner.

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 Cup     All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp.           Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp.           Salt
  • 1 1/2 Cup     Buttermilk

Method

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  • Lightly grease than flour baking sheet.
  • In large bowl, mix all ingrediants until a ball forms.
  • Turn out on lightly floured surface and knead about one minute.
  • Shape into 6 inch round.
  • Place on baking sheet.
  • Cut 1-inch X across top.
  • Bake until golden brown; around 40 minutes.
  • Should sound hallow when you tap bottom.
  • If not serving right away, wrap in a towel.
  • Leftovers, wrap in foil.
