Nut Bread

Delicious Spreads: Cream cheese, cinnamon-flavored honey, orange marmalade, grated orange or lemon peel mixed with granulated sugar for a "sprinkle" of flavor.

2 1/2 cups Gold Medal flour

1 cup sugar

3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

3 tablespoons salad oil

1 1/4 cups milk

1 egg

1 cup chopped nuts

Methods: Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour loaf pan, 9×5x3 inches. Measure all ingredients into large mixer bowl; beat on medium speed 1/2 minute. Pour into pan. Bake 55 to 65 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool before slicing.

Nut Bread in Cans: Grease and flour ten 6-ounce aluminum juice cans. Divide batter equally into cans. Bake about 40 minutes.
