Portzelki (German–new Year’s Cookies)

4 cups flour

3 cups raisins, floured

3 cups milk

1 tablespoon salt

1 tablespoon sugar

6 eggs

2 cakes Fleischman’s years

pinch of nutmegg

Heat milk to lukewarm and mix all ingredients. Let rise 2 hours in warm place. Then drop with spoon in hot fat and fry until brown on both sides.
