Home made cookies are the best. Eat them fresh from the oven.

Tea time is more welcome with cookies. There is nothing as good as home made fresh cookies.

You do not have to spend a long time in the kitchen for baking cookies.

You need not buy a lot of things to make good cookies.

Here is an easy recipe for baking tasty cookies.

Ingredients:

Maida or all purpose flour                           3 cups

Unsalted butter (cooking butter)                1 cup

Powdered sugar(sugar can be powdered  1 cup

                             in a mixer/grinder)

Egg                                                             1

Baking soda                                                1/4 tsp

Vanila essence (or any fruity essence)       2 drops

Broken almonds and cashew nuts

                                       (optional)             1/2 cup

Preparation:

Sift  the flour and baking powder twice in order that they mix well.

Mix powdered sugar with the flour.

Beat butter to a soft consistency and mix with the flour.

Beat egg and mix, along with the broken nuts, making a soft dough.

You can spread the dough with a rolling pin and cut to different shapes

or

Make big marble sized balls with the flour and press the ball, keeping it in the hollow of your palm. This will give a good shape to your cookies.

Bake on a greased plate at 350degrees F, for 10 to 12 minutes (till edges become golden)

Let it cool down and get crisp.

Quick nutty cookies are ready.
