Shrimp Fritters

Asian seafood appetizer best served with vinegar and garlic dip.
In the Philippines we call it – Crispy Ukoy (small shrimps)

Ingredients:

1cup small shrimps

1 egg

1 cup water

¾ cup cornstarch added to

¼ cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

¼ tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

½ tsp patis (fish sauce)

Oil for deep frying

Vinegar

Garlic sauce

Wash shrimps very well, drain and set aside. Slightly beat egg. Add water, cornstarch/flour mixture, baking powder, baking soda, salt, patis, and washed shrimps. Mix thoroughly.

Deep fry about 2 tablespoons of the mixture until golden brown and crisp. Dry on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve with vinegar and garlic sauce as dip.

    Don’t like shrimps that much but this recipe should bring back my taste buds.
