Speedy Rolls

Delicious rolls that are quick and easy to make.

Ingredients

2 cups lukewarm water, 4 tbsp. sugar, 2 pkg. instant dry yeast, 1 egg, 4 tablespoons shortening, 5 1/2 to 6 cups of flour, and 1 tbsp. salt.

Method

Place water, sugar, and yeast in bowl.  Add salt and 1 cup flour.  Beat 2 minutes.  Add egg and melted shortening.  Beat.  Gradually ad remaining flour.  Use enough flour so dough isn’t sticky.  Allow to rise until double in bulk.  Shape into rolls, etc.  Bake in moderate hot oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
