Traditional Arabic Bread with Dates and Nuts

Traditional Arabic bread with dates and nuts.

Ingredients:

 

150 g dates
200 g flour
1 egg
1 tablespoon brown sugar
50 ml oil
1 pinch salt
1 tsp baking powder
50 g nuts (walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds)
peel of half an orange
margarine

 

 

Method:

 

  • In a bowl break the egg and gradually add flour, brown sugar, oil, salt, baking powder, dates (pitted) and broken kernels. All mix well.
  • Spread with margarine and ready to be distributed mixture. Bake 20-25 minutes in pre heated oven to 180 degrees.

    I really like this bread. The bread I eat in London is full of Preservatives… When you make the next one, DHL it to me :)
