Granola

A nutritious homemade cold cereal.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of oats (not the instant kind)
  • 2⁄4 cup of sugar
  • 1 TBS of oil
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1⁄4 tsp salt
  • 1⁄4 cup raisins
  • 1⁄4 cup peanuts(or any kind of nuts that you prefer)
  • 2 TBS sesame seeds(optional)
  • 3 bananas
  • 3 cups of 2 percent fat milk.

Have all of the above ingredients ready and  measured out.

Method

In a heavy skillet over low heat add the nuts stir for about five minutes or until cooked. (Don’t try to taste them now they will be very hot!)

Then add oats, sugar, cinnamon,vanilla, salt, and sesame seeds. Stir constantly until oats are golden brown in color.

Turn off heat add the raisins and mix well. Let cool before serving or storing. Can be stored in an airtight container for 2 weeks.

Serves four

Serve topped with a sliced banana and 1 cup of 2 0⁄0 fat milk.

Each serving will be 762 calories but  is a very filling meal.
