Homemade Pancakes with Brown Sugar Syrup

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2 Tbsp. water
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine melted
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten

Method

In a medium size mixing bowl, stir together the dry ingredients. Combine the milk, water, margarine and egg in a second bowl. Add to the dry ingredients and stir until well mixed. Cook on a hot, greased griddle until done.

Brown Sugar Syrup

Ingredients

  • 2 c. light brown sugar, tightly packed
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring

Method

In a large saucepan, mix together the sugar and water. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and let simmer for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla flavoring. (Makes 2 cups)
