How to Make Pancakes

This is the Pancake recipe I use all of the time, it’s pretty fool proof.

Ingredients
- 110g/4oz plain flour, sifted
- pinch of salt
- 2 eggs
- 200ml/7fl oz milk mixed with 75ml/3fl oz water
- 50g/2oz butter
You will also need something to garnish the pancakes with; this can be anything such as Jam, Lemon and sugar, Ice cream etc. It is entirely up to you. They can also be used as a savoury meal to accompany a beef stew which is rather nice.
Method
- Pass the salt and flour through a sieve.
- Make a well in the centre of the mixture and add the eggs.
- Mix until smooth without lumps. (Don’t worry too much if you have the odd few)
- Add the milk slowly, mixing as you go along.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan.
- Add two tablespoons of the melted butter to the pancake batter and mix in.
- Place the rest of the butter in a bowl and use it to lubricate the pan before cooking.
- Make sure the pan is boiling hot when you begin but turn it down to a medium heat as you cook them.
- Pour some of the mixture into the pan and swirl the pan until it is coated evenly.
- Use a pallet knife to flip the pancake.
- When both sides are golden you’re finished, now to garnish as you see fit!

Very concise recipe, I’ll have to try it. Garnish as I see fit = with chocolate.

I’ll have to try these. The last pancakes I tried to make on my own were…well let’s just say inedible would have been putting it lightly.
